The Book Thief
A wonderful but heartbreaking tale of life in Nazi Germany. The book follows the ruminations of Death as he goes about his business, but who finds himself regularly returning to follow a young girl (who steals books) growing up in a village near Munich. To be honest, I found this book soul destroying. The author has composed an exquisitely angry book whose characters seem to develop a sense of futility and despair as each page turns. Please buy this.
